Internship Opportunities

Students pursuing careers in the following areas are invited to apply to participate in ESRI's Summer Internship Program. A large number of our interns major in computer science, GIS, geography, or engineering, but we also have opportunities for marketing, business, law, and accounting majors.

ArcGIS Product Development

Interns work on small, focused development teams with product specialists and development programmers to learn all activities associated with building the best commercial software possible. Learn more.

GIS Services

Interns working in the Professional Services Group support the implementation of GIS technology for external clients. Students work on one of many teams to assist with the development and implementation of GIS databases, provide proposal and project support, or create customized GIS applications. Learn more.

Internet Development

ESRI has several teams in different divisions devoted to developing and supporting our internal and external Web sites. Interns help with design, programming, and implementation of these sites. Students with skills ranging from Java programming to graphic design are needed.

Educational Services

Interns work alongside instructors and educational specialists helping design classes and curricula or putting their programming skills to work. Learn more.

Technical Support

Students work with Support Analysts, who assist ESRI customers in solving technical problems, by documenting technical issues to answer future questions, tracking incidents, writing Knowledge Base articles, and submitting software defect/enhancement requests.

Accounting

Interns work with experienced professionals throughout the department, performing basic accounting tasks and furthering their understanding of the field. Learn more.

Legal/Contracts

Law students are assigned short- and long-term projects of preparing, drafting, and researching a wide variety of agreements and other documents involving copyright, trademark, and license agreement issues. Learn more.

Marketing

Interns gain valuable experience working on one of eight groups in the Marketing Division. Projects may include writing, research, preparing marketing materials, helping build demos, or event planning. Learn more.

Regional Offices

Many of ESRI's 10 regional offices have one intern working on GIS projects during the summer months. GIS students assist sales and marketing staff in building product demonstrations, research, analysis, and presentations.
