As a product engineer specializing in documentation, I work with developers to understand the software they are building, and then I write about it in a way that everyone can understand.

When I began at ESRI about two years ago, ArcGIS Server was a relatively new product and many people were still learning how to use it, including me. ESRI patiently provided me the necessary time and resources to learn what I needed. Now, I can hopefully make the transition easier for many others who are new to ArcGIS Server.

I work on a team of intelligent, self-motivated people who care deeply about what they are doing. We’re trusted to prioritize our own tasks and get them done in the appropriate timeframes. I appreciate this trust.

The best part about my job is that I get to meet all kinds of people who are using GIS to do interesting and important things. I never imagined myself presenting a live workshop over the Web or speaking to rooms full of customers at a conference. ESRI provided these opportunities, which have been very beneficial to my communication skills.

I am thankful for the generous benefits package offered by ESRI which has helped me care for my family. One of my children has a special medical need and we’ve been able to receive treatment from world-class hospitals and doctors in this region that are covered through the ESRI health plan. Additionally, ESRI has provided tuition assistance for a work-related master's degree that I am pursuing on my own time. I appreciate the support my supervisors have offered for my educational and career goals.
